The 2018 JOOLA North American Teams Tournament is right around the corner and with over 175 teams that have already signed up, this will make the 21st year anniversary, a spectacle to watch. Since the first tournament in 1998, the JOOLA North American Teams have been the go-to teams’ tournament in North America. This tournament takes place from November 23rd to November 25th at the National Harbor Gaylord Resort. Many top 100 players from around the world have participated in this tournament, some examples would be Aleksandar Karakašević, Kalinkikos Kreanga, Johnny Huang, Eugene Wang, Fang Bo, and Hao Shuai. During last year’s tournament, the German Bundesliga held an actual league match in the USA for the first time ever, and it was quite a spectacular event in itself so this year should be interesting! Team JOOLA ASV Grünwettersbach, comprised of top level table tennis players such as Jörg Rosskopf, Aruna Quadri, Chen Weixing, Tamas Laktos, and Ricardo Walther, will be at attendance this year!  The tournament took place at the Baltimore Convention Center for the first 15 years, but as the event outgrew the facility, the tournament was moved to a larger venue at the National Harbor. The Gaylord Hotel and Resort. The tournament has been taking place at the Gaylord for the past 5 years and JOOLA intends to keep the number growing with this year’s tournament. Steven Chan, who is a well awarded table tennis player and a JOOLA representative, sat down and delivered some of his views on the tournament. Chan mentioned that JOOLA expects to have over 200 teams join this year with roughly 1000 participants. When asked on his thoughts on the tournament, he responded in saying “I’m very excited for this year’s tournament, we have been slowly growing over the years and it’s great to have it flourish into what it is today.” We all expect this year’s tournament, it is meant to be awe-inspiring event!
